When looking for a fishfinder you have have lots of options. There are several companies that make them. Most notable are Garmin and Humminbird. The Humminbird fishfinders are top sellers and have been since the inception of the company during the 1970’s.
The recreational angler is going to find the Humminbird fishfinder 535 a device that is easy to use and carry with them. This fishfinder offers a large screen to provide you with a clear sharp image see you can see the fish. Just because the device is easy to use doesn’t mean it is lacking in functionality.
Again as with most electronic devices you will find a wide range in cost. The Hummingbird 535 is what you might call a budget item. It’s got all the tools to help you make the catch without breaking your budget.
Because the 535 is small it’s not going to take up a lot of room on your boat or in your fishing gear. Even in a small package you’ll find a device that offers real-time sonar that enables you to capture the action happening below you at up to 40 times per second. In addition it has a sonar echo enhancement which helps bring even the small items into focus on your screen.
The high-resolution screen offers a 5 inch LCD that offers 16 levels of grayscale. It is set up to display several configurations to show several different presentations in white line, high contrast, bottom black or structure ID bottom. This gives you some flexibility in choosing the way you want to see your screen displayed.
If only your fishing boat would go 70 mph, yet for most people that’s a dream. But if you get a chance to live that dream the Humminbird 535 is capable of an accurate display even at speeds up to 70 mph. In addition it includes water temperature readings to help you find those hot and cold spots as needed.
To help you navigate the 535 it includes an x-press menu system. It is designed to help you access all the features with fewer clicks. The device comes with several different zoom levels from 2x through 8x. It also has a nice feature of being able to record your elapsed time, distance, and average speed if you purchase the optional speed sensor. It also offers a backlit LCD so if you like to go night fishing you will still be able to see the screen.
Again the Humminbird 535 is a small compact device which makes it easy to take with you just about anywhere. In addition it has a very simple and easy mounting system which makes it easy to take the device from one boat to another.
Any fishfinder should be waterproof and the Hummingbird 535 is and it even floats. If you drop it accidentally into the water don’t stress just fish it out and go on catching your fish.
